242 Virginia Press Women - Agnes Cooke Scholarship $550 This scholarship is available to any Virginia College student or Virginia resident attending an out-of-state college that is planning a career in journalism, photo journalism, public relations or another communications related field. A journalism degree is not required for applicants, but strong evidence of a commitment to the field of communications is essential. 287 Zonta Club of Fairfax County Edith Clark Nalls Graduate Scholarship for 2009-2010 $1250 Applicants must be female graduate students accepted/enrolled at George Mason University for the 2009-2010 academic year. Applicants with an established record of academic excellence will likely rank higher in the selection process. 288 Kappa Phi Gamma - Emerald Endowment Scholarship $270 This scholarship is available to female, South Asian heritage students who have demonstrated leadership through community service, extracurricular and/or other activities. Applicant will be enrolled full-time at George Mason University with a GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident. Applications available upon request. 289 The Paul and Daisy Soros Graduate Fellowships for New Americans $20000 Applicants must be a green card holder, a naturalized citizen or a child of two naturalized citizens. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or be completing the last year of their bachelors; or be a graduate student who has not yet entered the third year of their program; or a PhD student who is in the same program as their master's degree.
